Asia Access Asia This Australian site includes lesson plans about Asia for K-12 educators. Arthur M. Sackler/Freer Galleries, Smithsonian Institute Programs and materials available from the Education Department including lesson plans on Japanese art and culture and an online curriculum guide on Hindu worship called puja, in addition to other multimedia resources available for purchase. Asian Educational Media Service (AEMS) Our site features over four thousand multimedia titles and their distributors as well as our quarterly newsletter, educational resources for teachers, and a request service for any questions related to Asian education or media. Asia for Kids Features on-line catalog for this distributor of books, videos, CD-ROMS, and artifacts related to Asian cultures. Asian Film Connections This site focuses mainly on feature films from China, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. In addition to recommendations and historical background, it provides useful information for developing educational curriculum on Asian film. Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library This Australian site contains a country-by-country breakdown of Asian studies resources. Ask Asia A site designed by the Asia Society in collaboration with several partners. Features resources for the K-12 classroom including lesson plans, readings, bibliography, and images for use in teaching about Asia. Also includes information about Asian Studies programs, language classes, and resource centers located around the U.S. Celebrate Child This site, set up to serve the needs of people adopting foreign babies, sells videos (and other useful materials such as books, music, and kits) suitable for younger children on Asians and Asian-Americans. The China area is the strongest. Education About Asia A triannual magazine designed as a resource for teachers who wish to bring information on Asia to their classrooms. Published by the Association for Asian Studies, EAA offers highly readable feature articles, essays on educational programs and techniques, and reviews of books, films, videos, CD-ROMs, Web sites, and software for all educational levels. The National Consortium for Teaching about Asia A national, multi-year initiative to encourage and facilitate curriculum improvement in Asian studies at the secondary level. Each year, NCTA supports a minimum of twenty-five 30-hour seminars for secondary teachers throughout the country.
